Voter Registration

To pre-register to vote, you must be:

• A United States citizen and a resident of California, 16 or 17 years old

AND

• Not currently serving a state or federal prison term for the conviction of a felony (for more information, please visit: sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/who-can-votecalifornia/voting-rights-californians)

AND

• Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court (for more information, please visit: sos.ca.gov/elections/voter-registration/conservatorship)

If you are 16 or 17 years old and meet all other voter eligibility requirements,
you can pre-register to vote at RegisterToVote.ca.gov.

Simply complete the online pre-registration application and on your 18th
birthday, you will automatically be registered to vote.

Update your information at RegisterToVote.ca.gov. Voter registration
applications are also available at your local county elections office,
Department of Motor Vehicles, and post office.
